With 23+ years inside the HVAC industry, I know which companies play fair, and which ones don't. I connect homeowners exclusively with vetted, independent small business HVAC companies, never the corporate giants backed by private equity.
Suddenly you're facing a major unexpected expense, your home is uncomfortable, and you feel pressure to make a big financial decision quickly, without really knowing who to call or what a fair price looks like. That panic is exactly what bad actors in this industry count on. A stressed, rushed homeowner is far more likely to say yes to an overpriced system, unnecessary add-ons, or a company that won't stand behind their work.
Taking a breath and making one call to Brad first could save you thousands of dollars.
Large corporate and private-equity-backed HVAC companies spend heavily on advertising, dominating Google search results, running TV commercials, plastering their trucks everywhere. That visibility creates the illusion of trustworthiness.
Meanwhile, some of the most skilled, honest, and fairly priced HVAC contractors in the country are small local businesses with modest advertising budgets who rely almost entirely on word of mouth. My network exists to close that gap.
I know how HVAC companies price their work, and the red flags that tell you one isn't being straight with you.
Every company in my network is independently owned and operated. No private equity backing, no corporate overlords.
I have no upfront financial ties to any company in my network. My compensation is a pre-agreed referral fee paid by the company after a job is completed, a standard professional referral arrangement. I take no responsibility for the installation itself.
Every company carries proper licensure and insurance. Your agreement for the work is entirely between you and them.
Insider detailI confirm the master license holder is actually employed by the company. Too many license holders farm their license out to multiple companies they don't actually work for, this closes that loophole before you ever hear a pitch.
Why this mattersTypical lead-gen sites flood your phone by selling your info to a dozen companies at once. That's not what this is. You choose the number, I respect it, exactly.
Square footage, current system, what's going wrong, and what you're looking for, plus how many quotes you'd like (1-4).
Companies pulled from my network across the lower 48, evaluated for honesty, quality, fair pricing, and proper licensure.
You get the company representative's name and direct # before they ever call, so it's never an unknown number. The contractor always makes first contact, you never cold-call them.
Your differentiator, no guessworkTalk through the quotes with me if you want a second set of eyes, by phone, text, email, or live video.
Choose the company and system that's actually right for your home, knowing someone who understands the industry has your back.
Tap what they told you. I'll tell you what it actually means, straight from 23 years inside the industry.
Coupons and rebates are more often than not already built into the cost of the job. So when the "discount" is deducted, you feel good, when in actuality you paid a relatively normal amount. A quality contractor whose pricing is already competitive doesn't need a fake deadline to close you.
This is a classic dog-and-pony show. The money to lower your price was already built into the job. If they come back with "my manager knocked off $1,000," your very next question should be: why didn't you offer me that price to start with?
Big-box contractors push next-day installation because they don't want you getting more prices. If you did, you'd see how much they're overcharging you. Always get more than one estimate, at least three is customary.
There is no "best brand." Every brand on the market has examples of premature failure. The price of the job doesn't make the equipment good or bad, the integrity of your system comes down to the company that installs it, not the logo on the box.
Quality contractors offer prices that genuinely can't be discounted much. If a provider offers to knock four figures off your price, ask why they didn't offer that to begin with. A quality, honest contractor might knock a couple hundred bucks off, not thousands.
"I started this website because I watched too many homeowners get taken advantage of by companies that counted on them not knowing better. This matching service is my way of making sure that doesn't happen to you. I know this industry inside and out, and I'm putting that knowledge to work for you."
